Another week is over – thank goodness.
It’s been a bit of a quiet one again, despite the beginning of what will no doubt be one of the busiest release months in Nintendo’s history. Rumours picked up once again about Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire coming to the Switch, Nintendo announced a new Switch 2 hardware bundle for Japan, and Hello, Luigi! and Hello, Peach! apps also launched for Switch and mobile devices.
Reviews this week include:

After working may way through several reviews recently, I’m keen to put my Switch 2 to the side over the weekend. Though I would also like to check out Silver Pines if I get the chance.
I’d like to continue my playthrough of Silent Hill: Townfall on the PS5, and I’ll almost certainly continue experimenting with my new Retroid Pocket Classic.

I caught the big blues first time completion syndrome (that’s a thing, right?) from a once-in-a-life time video game: million unit seller Ace Combat 8’s campaign is pure art. The kind of game I would immediately go play again if I hit my head and forgot about ever having played it. Back to Switch 2 I go with more progress in Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, the deceptively hard and addicting Isle of Reveries along with some Battles & Blades to satisfy that old school belt action craving. Zero chance I get to play Dragon’s Dogma II, Lies of P or Kingdom Hearts Collection this weekend (but it won’t be from lack of trying…).
Game of the week is Taekwon-do for the Super Nintendo! My favourite martial arts competition video game made in 1994 by (the sorely missed) Human Entertainment. The fact that there are now a couple of Human PS1 games on Console Archives gives me hope that maybe one day there may be a proper re-release. Can you imagine a Human Super Famicom collection? World championship finals, here I go!

Since watching Alex’s video of our RuneScape: Dragonwilds review, I’ve been glued to it… well, between playing other work games that is! I’ve been playing with one of my friends lately (it was lovingly unhinged) and I’m even roping in my fiancé Andrew to play with me so I’ll be showing him the ropes this weekend.
As expected I played a lot of Kingdom Hearts for my video so I might jump back into KH1 just so I don’t leave that playthrough in the backlog graveyard. I’m itching to get through the entire collection (minus mobile games boo!) before KH4 comes out. Also, as it’s spooky month, I plan on jumping back in to Silent Hill: Townfall as I feel like I’ve neglected it as of late. I’m really loving it so far and I’m looking forward to tick it off my Silent Hill playlist.

It will be more Elden Ring for me this weekend. I’ve been resisting the urge to buy something new in the hopes of finishing the damn thing, and what do you know, I’m further than I’ve ever been before!
There’s no light at the end of the tunnel yet, but I’m having such a wonderful time that I can’t see myself putting it down any time soon. What a game, man!
Those are our plans, but what about yours? Let us know what you’ll be slapping in your Switch (2) in the poll below.
