I spent most of last Saturday laid out in a Baku hotel room, muscles in both legs ground to flecks of useless meat by the decision to walk down a mountain when there was a perfectly good funicular right there. May this weekend be more fruitful, and less marred by the stupidity of trying to please a step counter that only truly cares about where its next battery charge is coming from. Ruinous silicone bastard.

Edwin:
After writing about Star Wars: Zero Company this week I feel a hankering for a tactics RPG of some kind. Perhaps I’ll dig out that Troubleshooter: Abandoned Children game you’re all so keen on, or maybe I will fire up Othercide on the Switch (assuming the interface, which I recall being torturous on PS4, transfers easily to the smaller screen). Beyond that, I’ve just bought a new poetry tome, Aaron Kent’s Angels the Size of Houses.

Jeremy:
This weekend I’ll either be chugging along with Black Flag Resynced or maybe returning to Lords of the Fallen, which got put on the backburner after I decided to be a pirate for a bit rather than an emo goth knight wandering through a depressing world where everything’s gone to shite. Speaking of post-apocalyptic worlds, there’s also another secret game along these lines that I’ll be firing up for guides prep sometime soon. Look to the release schedule in August for possible hints, I say!

James:
I slapped Replaced on my Steam Deck last week for the pre-muscledeath plane trip, then spent the whole flight in Silksong instead. What can I say, I can’t get enough bug gibberish. I should play Replaced more, though.

Mark:
I’ve been thinking I might finally get around to trying Assassin’s Creed Rogue. It’s the entry that followed on from the recently resynced Black Flag and attempted to build on the naval battles I loved in that game, but I’ve never gotten around to giving it a go. It’s not unique in that regard, I’ve missed a number of AC entries in the years since Black Flag, specifically Valhalla, Origins and Syndicate. I should also really get around to finishing the remastered version of Assassin’s Creed 3 after starting it about half a decade ago. God, there are just so many games about people in hoodies jumping around.

Julian, Dion, and Callum do not recognise the the weekend’s claim to the end of the week.
