Vietnam Names New Central Bank Head as War Threatens Growth Goal


The central bank, which also sets the daily reference rate for the dong, lowered its credit growth quota to 15% this year and told financial institutions to restrict loans to risky sectors, including real estate. Still, Vietnam remains “overly reliant on leverage, with limited transparency in terms of decision making and data,” Fitch Ratings said in January.
