Venus Williams’ Wimbledon Tennis Looks Over the Years

The Championships, Wimbledon is back for its 2026 edition, featuring a crop of professional athletes vying for championship titles. Venus Williams is among the players returning to the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London, playing women’s doubles with her sister Serena, who’s returning to the sport after an almost four-year absence.

Venus Williams has a long history with the tournament, having won the women’s singles title five times and women’s doubles title six times. Since 1997, Williams has served more than just aces — she’s also showcased her tennis fashion acumen through variations on tennis whites, the dress code that’s enforced at the storied grand slam tournament. WWD breaks down her Wimbledon looks through the years ahead.

Williams put her partnership with Reebok front and center when she made her Wimbledon debut in 1997 at just 17 years old. The athlete wore a coordinated tennis outfit in white with a black stripe on the shoulders and running down the side of the skirt. While her tennis kit wasn’t completely monochromatic, the strict tournament allowed and continues to allow small bits of color from logos to other small motifs.

Williams’ 2007 Wimbledon attire was a standout piece. Designed by Reebok, the coordinated shorts and crisscross strap tank set was accessorized with emerald jewelry. The athlete went on to win the 2007 Wimbledon women’s singles title, securing her place in history as a four-time champion (later five-time when she defended the title in 2008) and the first woman in tennis to earn equal prize money at a top-level tournament. Barbie commemorated the milestone in August 2025 with a doll inspired by Williams and complete with her tennis outfit and accessories.

At the 2010 edition of Wimbledon, at which Williams made the quarter final, the athlete showed off her brand EleVen, which she founded in 2007. Williams wore a sleeveless tennis dress with a bevy of feminine details. The tennis dress was designed with a bustier-inspired bust and lace bodice. At the hips, Williams’ kit transitioned to a layered fringy skirt for more playful touches.
