US Commerce Secretary says Modi’s not calling Trump wrecked trade deal


India dismissed the remarks as inaccurate later on Friday. “The characterization of these discussions in the reported remarks is not accurate,” Randhir Jaiswal, a spokesman for the Ministry of External Affairs, told reporters in New Delhi. He added that India and the U.S. had been close to a trade deal on “several occasions,” and that Modi and Trump spoke by phone eight times last year.
