
A United States Coast Guard helicopter has reportedly crashed in Alaska, the Coast Guard said Monday.
First responders and search and rescue crews are responding to Sitka, near Juneau, for a “reported crash involving a Coast Guard MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter,” the U.S. Coast Guard Arctic District said on social media.

The cause of the incident is unknown at this time, the Coast Guard said.
“The safety, well-being, and rescue of our crew members is our absolute, immediate priority,” the Coast Guard said. “A formal investigation will be conducted to determine the circumstances surrounding the event.”
