Turn Even More Enemies Against Each Other With This Secrets of Strixhaven Precon Upgrade

Magic: The Gathering’s Secrets of Strixhaven set is fast approaching (with prerelease this weekend), and for the first time since Tarkir: Dragonstorm, we’re getting five Commander precons with it.

One of the more intriguing options of the bunch is Silverquill Influence, a white/black deck that blends artifacts and auras with a Goad theme – and there’s one Final Fantasy card that slots in beautifully.

This Final Fantasy Card Is Spiking In Price

Eye of Nidhogg

Eye of Nidhogg

Eye of Nidhogg is a Legendary Enchantment — Aura that costs one Black mana and two generic.

It reads “Enchant creature. Enchanted creature is a black Dragon with base power and toughness 4/2, has flying and deathtouch, and is goaded.”

If you’ve not come up against a Goad-focused deck before, the idea is that it pushes players to attack each other instead of the one goading them.

This enchantment also triggers Killian, Decisive Mentor, the Silverquill Influence deck’s Commander, because as Eye of Nidhogg enters, Killian can goad something else. So for three mana, you’re goading twice, and triggering Killian’s card draw.

Better still, once the creature Eye of Nidhogg is on dies, the card bounces back to your hand ready to create even more chaos.

The card was selling for a pittance not long ago, but its value has jumped 3,550% according to TCGplayer, making it arund $7.50 at the time of writing.

As a reminder, each Commander precon from the set is packed with reprint value and still going for $49.99 each at Amazon (the MSRP).

For more on Magic: The Gathering, be sure to check out the new Commanders joining Killian in the set, and expect plenty more coverage of Secrets of Strixhaven as the set gets closer.
