Trump’s Greenland tariffs are bad for Europe but good news for Canada


But a pall was cast over von der Leyen’s announcement when Trump dropped his own bombshell, threatening to impose 10 per cent tariffs on Denmark, Norway, Sweden, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and Finland — all countries participating in upcoming NATO exercises in Greenland — that will increase to 25 per cent on June 1 unless Copenhagen agrees to part ways with Greenland.
