Tropical Storm Dolly has formed on a slow path toward the Caribbean. It is not expected to strengthen into a hurricane, but the rain may affect the Virgin Islands, the Leeward Islands and Puerto Rico.
The storm name is coincidental following the death of country music singer Dolly Parton. The National Weather Service uses rotating lists of predetermined names for storms. The name Dolly replaced Diana after the 1990 hurricane season and was first used in 1996, according to the NWS.
