Travis Kelce calls MSG wedding with Taylor Swift ‘best night of my life’

Just over a month since marrying Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce shared his first public comments about the wedding on Wednesday, calling it “the best night of my life.”

The Kansas City Chiefs star tight end and the pop superstar wed July 3 at Madison Square Garden in front of 1,000 guests. The festivities included a star-studded list of attendees, including Patrick Mahomes, Ed Sheeran, Wayne Gretzky and Selena Gomez.

Comedian and actor Adam Sandler officiated the ceremony. There were no groomsmen, with Swift’s brother serving as her man of honor and Kelce’s brother, Jason, serving as his best man.

Kelce offered some information about the night following Chiefs practice Wednesday.

“It was a fun offseason, man. The wedding was the best night of my life. I appreciate everybody who came out and celebrated and had fun with us,” he said. “It was a crazy night, and it was full of a lot of celebrations.”

Set in midtown Manhattan, the location initially was a surprise. But the self-styled World’s Most Famous Arena holds a special place in Kelce’s heart, he explained.

Kelce always told himself that he would visit the arena for a playoff game when “the Knicks were rocking.” Swift wound up doing exactly that during the 2026 NBA Finals, attending New York’s miraculous comeback in Game 4.

The three-time Super Bowl champion was unable to attend since he was at Chiefs minicamp. But a potentially better alternative? Getting married in the building.

“It’s kind of cool to be able to live out my childhood dream of being in that venue, the mecca of all sports venues, to be able to get married in there,” he said. “I can’t thank the owners of MSG [enough] for allowing us to get the opportunity to do that, knowing that we wanted a private event. It was perfect, and the AC was cooking, baby. That was the best part.”

Few details have emerged from Kelce and Swift’s wedding, and their post-wedding honeymoon plans have remained private. However, Kelce has been a constant presence at Kansas City’s offseason program and training camp.

Heading into his 14th NFL campaign, the four-time first-team All-Pro added Wednesday that he can still “play at a high level.” Kelce had 76 receptions for 851 yards and five touchdowns last season.

ESPN’s Nate Taylor contributed to this report.
