Bets on fewer rate hikes due to the fall in energy prices are not confined to the euro area. A similar picture is emerging in the UK where swaps price around an 85% chance of a quarter-point hike this year, down from as many as four hikes seen back in March. In the US, traders see a 25% chance of two hikes by year-end, down from almost 80% seen on Monday.
