“At times I thought we were out of contention,” admitted an emotional Nyck de Vries after capturing his maiden Le Mans victory. “But it just shows that you can never give up. It all came together.”

Making Toyota’s win all the more valuable is that in past years some of its challenges came against privateer teams. In 2026 they bested factory efforts from some of the most prestigious brands in motorsports.
