The grilled cheese relaunch came on the heels of Tim Hortons’ commitment to local hiring. On May 25, the chain announced a national campaign to hire 10,000 locals to staff its restaurants, including 80 new locations opening this year. Tim Hortons said in a statement that its reliance on the temporary foreign worker program has “declined steadily since 2024,” with roughly 4,000 of 110,000 employees (3.6 per cent of all restaurant roles) hired through the program.
