Witcher fans have it good this week. The Witcher 3 Remastered, which brings a plethora of updates and fixes to the decade-old RPG, has finally been released by CD Projekt Red. It is also a free upgrade for anyone who already owns the game, and makes its two stellar expansions available at no extra cost. In addition to the excitement around the remaster, CD Projekt Red has also released a new tease for the game’s upcoming expansion, Songs of the Past. Appropriately enough, the tease has to do with music.
Milan Records and CD Projekt Red have released “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Songs of the Past (Original Soundtrack Gamescom 2026 EP)” on all music streaming services. The EP includes five original tracks from the upcoming expansion that first appeared during CD Projekt Red’s Gamescom showcase this year. Here’s the full tracklist:

Magda Urbańska and Daniel Elms are newcomers to the Witcher franchise, while Marcin Przybyłowicz (who has one track on the EP) was the lead composer for The Witcher 3 and its Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine expansions. On working on the upcoming expansion’s soundtrack, Urbańska said, “Creating music for Songs of the Past was incredibly exciting for me, but I also felt a huge sense of responsibility.” The composer continued, sharing that “I vividly remember the first time I heard the music from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — it shook me to the core. That music was extraordinary then, and it remains extraordinary to this day.”
What we know about The Witcher 3: Songs of the Past
Like Blood and Wine, Songs of the Past will take place in an entirely new region with a new story, monsters, and quests for Geralt to get lost in. It will also be roughly the same size as the 2016 expansions. It will see Geralt coming out of retirement and traveling to the land of Letten to uncover a sinister secret at the idyllic region’s core.
Unlike the base game and its first two expansions, Songs of the Past is not being developed exclusively by CD Projekt Red. Instead, development is being done alongside Fool’s Theory, a studio made up of a number of people who previously worked on The Witcher 3. Fool’s Theory is also the team behind the upcoming Witcher 1 remake. Songs of the Past will be released in 2027, though a hard date has not been set.
