“If you’re all doom and gloom, to use that expression, you take away people’s hope,” said Chilton, who for the new book again uses fictional characters including the OG barber Roy Miller to illustrate his points. “You have to kind of say, look, it’s going to be more difficult. That’s a reality. I mean, there’s no way around that. It’s basic arithmetic … Let’s recognize it’s tougher. But on top of that, let’s try to do it in the best possible way and stay hopeful the brighter days are ahead.”
