The Open Championship Thursday highlights: Best sights, sounds and shots


The 2026 Open Championship tees off Thursday at Royal Birkdale Golf Club in Southport, England.

Scottie Scheffler is back in action to try to defend his title. Scheffler dominated at Royal Portrush Golf Club in 2025, finishing at 17-under and defeating Harris English by four strokes. Though he’s coming off his first missed cut in quite some time, Scheffler is still the favorite to win The Open.
