Meanwhile, Wicked: For Good made its VOD debut on Dec. 30, 2025, after opening on Nov. 21. However, Nolan is a huge advocate of theatrical experiences and has already secured an extended window for The Odyssey‘s theatrical run. Nolan’s Oppenheimer premiered on July 21, 2023, but wasn’t available digitally until Nov. 21. The Odyssey premiered on July 17, so you might need to wait until November to see it on VOD.
When will The Odyssey be available on Blu-ray/DVD?
Universal tends to wait about three to four weeks between digital and physical releases. The Super Mario Galaxy Movie got its physical release on June 16, while Wicked: For Good came out on 4K UHD, DVD, and Blu-ray on Jan. 20. But once again, Nolan is likely pushing for The Odyssey‘s schedule to be quite different. The director is a big believer in physical media, so Oppenheimer‘s digital and physical release happened simultaneously. When will The Odyssey be available to stream on Peacock?
The Odyssey is being distributed by Universal Pictures, so let’s compare it to some of Universal’s other theatrical releases. The Super Mario Galaxy Movie will make its streaming debut on July 30, about six weeks after its physical release and nearly four months after its theatrical debut. Wicked: For Good arrived on Peacock on March 20, four months after its theatrical release. But Oppenheimer didn’t hit Peacock until Feb. 14, 2024, almost six months after its theatrical premiere. Universal has a streaming deal with Netflix where its movies have a four-month exclusive window on Peacock, then go to Netflix for 10 months, then go back to Peacock. Expect The Odyssey to drop on Netflix in summer 2027.
