“The lines between redemption and revenge will blur”, promises Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2’s latest trailer as the series locks in a late October release

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2, the second series of the anime CD Projekt Red and Netflix grafted onto the former’s cyberverse following Cyberpunk 2077’s release, will premiere on October 20th. Having previously revealed the four new Night City dwellers its plot will be following, the show’s creators have now put out another trailer teasing the tale of “revenge and redemption” in store.

The thing that’s stuck out to me about the new teaser, which you can watch above, is that it appears to split the four leads off into two pairs. Veteran edgerunner Weak Kingsley, the bloke in the grey coat, looks to have been tasked with helping chromed-up Talia Yang escape the corpo life before it chews her up and spits her out, all while confronting his own past demons as he adjusts to life without cyberware. Meanwhile, nomad netrunner D’s escaped a fire that wiped out his clan and ends up meeting Roman Carax, the kid with the camcorder keen to document the city’s stories.

From there, there’s a lot of shooting and shouting that all four look to have a hand in and some creepy chat about D being “a weapon made out of people”. All in all, the series looks like a shot of action and arguably over-the-top emotional drama right to your frontal lobe. I’m keen to give it more of a chance to win me over than I did the first series, especially now I know it’ll be coming around the time most games aside from Call of Duty run for the hills to avoid doing anything major around GTA 6’s console launch. I love Cyberpunk as a game, though a lot of that comes from being able to explore Night City myself, but I think I could be persuaded to dig the anime with a bit more exposure.

Regardless, I’m pretty sure the legions of folks who loved the first series will be tempted into taking on another playthrough of V’s story once they’ve binged Edgerunners 2.

It is true that we do not know what is in the deal withthe Trump administration or even if there is a deal. But we cannot wait until it is too late to express our concerns. While I understand why the government does not want to negotiate in public, we have no idea what if any bottom lines our negotiators have or what they believe success looks like. Instead what we know is that a trail of concessions brought us to this point and a deal will mean more concessions and all evidence suggests that tariffs are here to stay. If the government uses the standard that we want tariffs lower than other countries it has set a very low bar given that our economic relationship with the US and the implications of the tariffs are not like other countries.
