The Blood of Dawnwalker gets a late summer release date, system requirements, and another, very Witchery, gameplay look-in

It’s been a good four years since The Witcher 3 director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz helped to form Rebel Wolves, and here we are with the studio’s debut title The Blood of Dawnwalker on the horizon. And oh, what’s this ship sailing in right about now? The S.S. Release Date? Ahoy!

As part of a big ole livestream held by Rebel Wolves today, the studio confirmed that The Blood of Dawnwalker will be releasing in a little over four months time on September 3rd, 2026. Assuming there isn’t a delay, that is, because we’re all pretty used to that by now (though I would place a bet that the team are hoping to not get caught in GTA 6’s headlights, before or after).

This release date was paired with a story trailer, which there’s not much to say about because it just showed what we already know; guy gets turned into vampire, has to rescue his family in 30 days, makes some friends, makes some foes. You get it! However, there was a lengthy bit of gameplay shown off at the start of the stream at the very least.

To my eye, it honestly just looks like The Witcher 3 from another universe. The flow of the combat looks similar, though sets itself apart with the fact that during the day you use your sword and at night you use your vampire powers. This does sound like an interesting balancing act, even if the combat itself doesn’t look like it’s doing anything revolutionary.

The gameplay demo dug a bit into how quests work, showing off an infamy meter that fills up as you continue to foil the plots of the big bad Brencis. Engaging in certain quests will anger certain baddies more and more, with your actions influencing what quests come next. All of this is of course part of its whole no main quest thing, but I don’t think this gameplay demonstration illustrated it any better. I think that’s something that will have to be felt out while playing. None of it looks bad, especially if you just want more The Witcher 3.

System requirements were shared too, which you can check out above and make assessments of yourself. I may write about PC games for a living but I am no hardware person, so you tell me if these are good or bad. In any case! September 3rd! Be there or be the kind of person that likes to wait and see what people think about it first.
