Teyana Taylor turned to the Ashi Studio runway for her dramatic look that heightened intrigue and mystery in equal measure at “The Rip” premiere on Tuesday night in New York City.
In a look curated by styling team Wayman Bannerman and Micah McDonald, Taylor wore a selection from Ashi Studio’s spring 2025 haute couture collection, featuring an exaggeratedly high neckline and playful disproportionate hips in a sheer black fabric.

The highlight of the look was certainly the high neckline of the dress, which covered half of the “One Battle After Another” Golden Globe Award winner‘s face. Connecting to the bodice of the dress, the look included long sleeves and sheer, slightly ruched fabric, giving the piece an extra edgy quality.
The hips of the dress were crafted with additional volume, heightening the drama even further and rendering the overall look with an aesthetic sculptural approach. With a hemline falling at the knee, Taylor’s dress was coordinated with simple black strappy pointed-toe pumps.

Ashi Studio is a popular brand among several high-profile figures. Along with Taylor, mogul Kylie Jenner recently wore a design by the label — a silver, formfitting gown she styled for the 2026 Golden Globe Awards.
The spring 2025 haute couture collection, curated by Paris-based designer Ashi, took inspiration from “the hieratic characters from the works of polymath image-maker and perfumer Serge Lutens,” Lily Templeton wrote in WWD’s review of the collection.

“Ashi spun this fantasy of upward social mobility, balancing overt sensuality in the materials — velvet, barely there Chantilly lace, duchesse satin — with shapes forming cocoons that telegraphed a ‘look but don’t touch’ impression,” Templeton wrote of the collection’s highlights.
Starring Taylor, Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, “The Rip” follows a group of Miami-based cops who discover a stash of millions of dollars in cash, leading to distrust and questions. The film arrives Friday on Netflix.
