After securing its fourth consecutive SEC series against the LSU Tigers last weekend, Texas A&M baseball travels to Gainesville, Florida, for a matchup against the Gators, beginning with the series opener on Friday night.
The Aggies have been one of the hottest teams in college baseball over recent weeks, recording series wins over No. 2 Texas and the program’s first sweep at LSU since 1978. Entering the season with many questions regarding his future as the Aggies’ skipper, second-year head coach Michael Earley has turned things around in Bryan-College Station in 2026.

Texas A&M ranks second in the current conference standings — just one game behind the Georgia Bulldogs. The club’s success is largely due to the outstanding performances at the plate. Gavin Grahovac and Caden Sorrell have been among the country’s most impressive duos, with both ranking top 10 in the league in batting average, slugging percentage, OPS, runs scored, hits and RBI. Sorrell also ranks third in the SEC with 18 home runs in his junior campaign.
The Aggie bullpen experienced a rough patch at the beginning of the year but has drastically improved over recent weeks. Texas A&M lost right-hander Josh Stewart in the SEC opener against Oklahoma earlier in the year and MJ Bollinger left the program to enter the portal, shaking the depth of the pitching rotation and raising many questions about whether the Aggies could sustain success deep into league play.
Left-hander Shane Sdao will start on the bump for the Maroon and White in Game 1 against the Gators, who have had a rollercoaster ride of a year so far. Sdao has notched 62 strikeouts through 53.0 innings pitched and boasts a 3-2 record for the Aggies in 2026.
