Steelers make multiple roster moves for Week 2 matchup vs. Patriots


In preparation for their Week 2 matchup against the New England Patriots, the Pittsburgh Steelers have made a few roster moves, including two key practice squad elevations.

On Saturday, the Steelers elevated defensive back Doneiko Slaughter and running back Travis Homer to the active roster, while also placing running back Max Hurleman on the practice squad/injured list.

Slaughter, who entered the league with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2025 as an undrafted free agent, signed with the Steelers in 2026 on a reserve/futures contract. He put together an excellent preseason performance and was also elevated for last week’s matchup against the Atlanta Falcons.

Homer was also a training camp and preseason standout but unfortunately just missed out on making the 53-man roster with Pittsburgh. In addition to being a solid depth piece at running back, Homer is also an outstanding special teamer.
