If you haven’t already had enough news related to Ubisoft for one day, here’s a story tied to the Prince of Persia series.
Following a free “first anniversary” update for Rogue Prince of Persia last week, developer Evil Empire has now revealed this was actually the “final update” for the title. There were originally “two updates” planned, but these ideas were merged into one.
While the team has loved working on this game, it feels this is the right way to wrap up the title. More than one million players have now experienced it, which the studio says is “pretty crazy” considering this is its very first game. So, for now, it’s time to say goodbye to the Prince:
Evil Empire: “We hope he keeps running for a very, very long time. Thank you.”
The recent anniversary update added new combat zones, a new weapon and tool, and parkour updates. You can see more in the trailer:
Although this does mark the end of development on this title, Evil Empire is still busy co-developing Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse with Motion Twin (Dead Cells). This new chapter in the Castlevania series will launch for Switch next month. A demo is also being released.
