Slam Jam x Air Jordan 8 Retro Release Date IZ4961-068

The Air Jordan 8 is one of Michael Jordan’s most iconic sneakers, having been worn by the basketball legend during the Chicago Bulls’ 1993 championship campaign. And with its decidedly early ‘90s design cues and bold, strap-equipped construction, the model has also remained a popular lifestyle shoe in the decades since its debut.

Soon, storied Italian retailer Slam Jam will look to further heighten the Air Jordan 8’s casual appeal through a new two-style collaboration. Previewed for the first time at men’s Paris Fashion Week through exclusive images shared by @thedropdate, the upcoming Slam Jam x Air Jordan 8 collection will come in two colorways, Light Bone and Iron Gray, and will be accompanied by a range of matching apparel.

Early information surrounding the shoes is minimal, however accompanying co-branded apparel covered in a feather pattern hints at an avian inspiration behind the collection. The sneakers are presented in two fully tonal colorways; one in an off-white bone shade the other in dark gray.

The build of the sneakers introduces a first-of-its-kind material to the Air Jordan 8, covering the upper in a perforated leather material with score marks cut throughout the upper resulting in a mesh-like appearance reminiscent of basketball jerseys.

One of the Air Jordan 8’s defining features, its abstract TPU heel graphic, is kept blank for an even more refined aesthetic. And behind the shoe’s signature support straps lies a hidden detail featuring the same feather print seen on the collection’s apparel.

While Air Jordan 8 releases have been plentiful over the years, the same can’t be said for collaborations. To date, the model has only been released in collaborations with Miami boutique Solefly and Drake’s October’s Very Own imprint.

The Slam Jam x Air Jordan 8 Retro collection is set to be released during spring 2027 for a to-be-announced retail price with expected availability from Slam Jam and Nike’s Snkrs app.
