There is a base assumption in Ontario that the province is important to the federal government. Now it seems that base assumption is off base. In Carney’s Canadian version of the new world order, personal relationships count for nothing and it’s every province for itself. For Ford, that will mean standing up for Ontario and doing it publicly, as he did at his press conference this week. Being the prime minister’s buddy doesn’t seem to work.
