See What’s New on Netflix in July: Will Ferrell’s Golf Series, Enola Holmes 3, Ransom Canyon and More

Whether you’re looking for buddy comedies, 19th-century adventure, or the return of familiar comfort shows, Netflix gets it. This July, the platform is giving audiences plenty to dive into.

This month, Millie Bobby Brown returns for the third time as Enola Holmes, the younger sister to sleuth Sherlock Holmes, only this time she’s a bit more grown up: She’s getting married. There are also tons of new comedies on the docket for this month, including a new sports series, The Hawk, starring Will Ferrell and Molly Shannon, and the new Kevin Hart-led film 72 Hours, about a middle-aged man who accidentally ends up on a bachelor party weekend with a group of men much younger than him.

July also marks the release of a Little House on the Prairie reboot, a new season of Ransom Canyon, and we’ll throw in a couple of can’t-miss honorable mentions. You can catch the Oscar-winning Hamnet on the platform and the fourth season of the great AMC series Dark Winds.

Here’s a look at 10 new titles arriving on Netflix that will keep us all entertained this July.

Millie Bobby Brown returns for her third outing as Enola Holmes, the younger sister of detective Sherlock Holmes, in Enola Holmes 3. Henry Cavill returns as Sherlock, and this time, he’s been kidnapped, and it’s up to Enola to find her missing brother somewhere on Malta. Complicating things even more is the fact that all of this is happening just as she’s about to walk down the aisle and wed Lord Tewkesbury (Louis Partridge). The new film arrives on Netflix on July 1.

Survival of the Thickest (Season 3)

Comedian Michelle Buteau is one of the funniest women working in Hollywood, and her series Survival of the Thickest returns to Netflix for another season. This season, new faces to the cast include Wanda Sykes, D.L. Hughley, Ashley Graham, Ronny Chieng, Wyatt Cenac, Jenna Lyons and Ice-T.

The new series is based on Hiro Yūki’s novel, 20 Seiki Denki Mokuroku, and arrives on Netflix on July 5.

Little House on the Prairie

Luke Bracey, Crosby Fitzgerald, Alice Halsey and Skywalker Hughes star as the Ingalls family in Netflix’s new interpretation of Little House on the Prairie, the story of one family’s life in the 19th-century American West. For some of us who grew up on the original series in the 1970s and ’80s, the reboot is an exciting development. The series premieres on July 9, and it’s already been renewed for a second season ahead of its premiere (fans of the original, just a heads up, the new series will feature Nellie Oleson, the original Mean Girl, but she won’t appear until season 2).

July 14

Netflix

Netflix has no shortage of sports docuseries that peer into the lives of star athletes. Quarterback is one such show that follows a group of NFL signal callers on and off the field. This season, we’ll get a peek into the worlds of Jayden Daniels, Baker Mayfield, Cam Ward and Joe Flacco. The newest season of Quarterback arrives on July 14.

On the show, Ferrell plays Lonnie “The Hawk” Hawkins, a pro golfer who becomes the face of a new league that’s in direct competition with the PGA Tour. (This isn’t secretly a show financed by LIV Golf, is it? No, it’s not. At least not that we know of!) Shannon plays The Hawk’s ex-wife. The series also stars Jimmy Tatro, Fortune Feimster, Chris Parnell and Luke Wilson.

One of the most delightful shows of recent years has been Netflix’s original teen romance Heartstopper, and the show is now a movie. Heartstopper Forever essentially serves as a series finale, adapting the sixth and final volume of the Heartstopper graphic novel by Alice Oseman into a feature-length movie. The film reunites Kit Connor and Joe Locke as Nick and Charlie as they and their friends prepare for college and what that means for their relationships.

Season 2, out July 23, picks up with Quinn having just spent the last six months in New York playing piano with the philharmonic, returning to her hometown, and to Staten, who’s been pining for her.
