It might be hard to believe, but Phoenix Wright celebrates his 25th anniversary next month, and while he hasn’t reached his birthday just yet, it seems Capcom is already ramping up the celebrations.

While it’s not exactly what fans of the Ace Attorney series have been calling for (or probably expecting), it’s hopefully a sign there are more announcements on the way. Amata Games “under licensing from Capcom” will be releasing Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Dual Destinies VR for the Quest and new Meta VR Glasses in 2027.

So, while this is technically just the fifth mainline entry in the series, it’s now been enhanced with new and “virtual reality” gameplay. If you weren’t already doing it, you’ll now be able to yell “Objection!” and perform all the iconic gestures as your family, friends and pets watch on.

Dual Destinies originally made its debut on the 3DS in 2013 and was also part of the Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy, which was released on the Switch in 2024.

If you missed it, Capcom recently announced the Ace Attorney Trilogy has now sold over 5 million copies. And to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the series on 12th October 2026, it’s also shared a brand-new illustration by series artist Kazuyu Nuri and Takuro Fuse featuring “several fan favorite characters dressed to impress for the occasion”.
