As the clock ticks down to the end of the sitting, PUBLIC SAFETY AND NATIONAL SECURITY members have blocked off at least one more day to go through the fine print of Public Safety Minister Gary Anandasangaree’s latest bid to overhaul the laws on access to data and electronic communications by police and intelligence agencies, which has been under committee review since May 5. Over at INTERNATIONAL TRADE, MPs will get an update on Canada’s current trading relationship with Japan from representatives of the Business Council of Canada and Oymel S.E.C. before shifting their focus back to the upcoming review of the Canada – U.S. — Mexico trade pact during a one-hour session with representatives of the Canadian Cattle Association, Coffee Association of Canada and VidCruiter Inc. (11 a.m.)
AGRICULTURE AND AGRI-FOOD members explore “food security in the face of global instability” during a roundtable chat with representatives of the Prince Edward Island Federation of Agriculture, as well the P.E.I. Potato Board, Strawberry Hill Farm, Marc Bercier Seed Cleaning Inc. and the Community Food Sharing Association. (11 a.m.)
