Chelsea will look to bounce back from its first defeat of the new English Premier League season as it hosts a newly promoted Hull team that’s confounding expectations.

After a bright start against defending champion Arsenal, Xabi Alonso’s men eventually succumbed 2-1 to their capital rivals in last Sunday’s absorbing London derby. The Blues also showed signs of defensive vulnerability in their midweek Carabao Cup clash with Leeds, but a storming second-half comeback saw them score six times to claim a 6-3 win.

They now take on a Hull team looking to preserve an impressive unbeaten record. Last weekend’s draw at home at Aston Villa saw them climb to a lofty third in the standings behind EPL stalwarts Man City and Arsenal. A Carabao Cup defeat away to Sunderland in midweek took some shine off a strong start, but the opportunity to claim its biggest scalp of the campaign so far will be one that Sergej Jakirović’s underdogs will certainly relish.

Chelsea takes on Hull City on Saturday, Sept. 12, at Stamford Bridge in West London, with kickoff set for 3 p.m. BST. That makes it a 10 a.m. ET or 7 a.m. PT start in the US and Canada, and a 12 a.m. AEST kickoff in Australia.
