Prasidh Krishna replaces Mohammed Siraj for Ireland and England T20Is

India have withdrawn fast bowler Mohammed Siraj from their squads for the T20I series against Ireland and England in a bid to manage his workload, replacing him with his Gujarat Titans (GT) team-mate Prasidh Krishna.

“Following discussions between the BCCI Medical Team and the Team Management, Siraj has been advised a period of rest as part of his workload management programme,” the BCCI said in a release. “The decision has been taken as a precautionary measure to ensure adequate recovery ahead of a long international season.”

Prasidh has played five T20Is so far, with eight wickets at an economy rate of 11. His last game for India in the format came in November 2023, against Australia in Guwahati.
Prasidh is also part of India’s squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against Afghanistan beginning June 13, while Siraj was left out for that series. Both quicks recently played in the Test win against Afghanistan in New Chandigarh.

Siraj played 17 games for GT in IPL 2026, while Prasidh played 12 during the team’s run to the final.

After the T20I series against Ireland and England, India are also set to play ODIs in England, and have assignments lined up in Zimbabwe, Sri Lanka and New Zealand.

India play Ireland in two T20Is in Belfast on June 26 and 28, followed by five T20Is in England from July 1 to 11.
