MILAN — Fay is celebrating its roots in the great outdoors with a high-profile collaborator.
Pierre Casiraghi has codesigned the Fay Atlantic capsule collection, part of the brand’s spring 2027 lineup.
Drawing on Casiraghi’s longtime passion for sailing and experience in regattas, the tight edit combines the performance needs of competition gear with the old-school charm of vintage yachts.
The name, selected by Casiraghi, is inspired by the namesake schooner launched in 1903, arguably one of the most legendary sailboats in yachting history with its three masts.
Casiraghi, who joined the Tod’s-owned brand’s presentation in Milan on Friday, jetting in from a regatta — touted the collaboration with Fay as an easy, joint effort.
“It’s of course inspired by the sea, by classic sailing and classic yachts… [it’s] a comfortable [edit] that you can use on the boast,” Casiraghi explained. “I looked to the great navigators of the 20th century and their essential way of dressing. Garments designed first and foremost to serve a purpose, to protect, to allow freedom of movement, to withstand wind, salt and time.”
The limited-edition Fay Atlantic jacket, the capsule’s hero piece, was inspired by sailors’ pea coats, with details nodding to sails, ropes and onboard equipment, in addition to the signature Fay hook.
“I wanted to start from a deeper idea of the sea, of function and of elegance. I think of the great America’s Cup yachts of the 1930s, the J Class, a period when sailing had already become highly advanced technology while still retaining an extraordinary sense of naturalness and grace,” Casiraghi said.
“In developing the collection, my personal relationship with the sea was fundamental, as were the experiences I gained through both ocean and classic sailing,” he said.
The youngest of three children of Caroline, Princess of Hanover, Casiraghi is eighth in the line of succession to the Monegasque throne. A passionate sailor, he has built a serious résumé over the past decade. The vice president of the Yacht Club de Monaco, he cofounded Team Malizia with offshore skipper Boris Herrmann in 2016 and has competed in offshore and regatta sailing under the club’s banner.
Fay said that the Atlantic capsule collection also marks the first of future activations linked with the 2027 America’s Cup, which will be held in Naples.
The tie-up with Casiraghi is part of Fay’s ongoing program of collaborations with personalities who boast distinctive expertise in outdoorsy fields. The brand previously teamed with Ronnie Kessel for a capsule that bowed in 2025 and was dedicated to classic racing cars.
Elsewhere, Fay’s spring 2027 collection toyed with a coastal vibe, infusing its performance outerwear, such as bomber and field jackets, with off-duty allure. Ditto for the silk and cotton trenchcoats and suede jackets. A travel edit within the collection was crafted from wrinkle-free, stretch fabrics.
