Phasmophobia admits it “missed the mark” and prepares “to earn back this community’s trust”

Phasmophobia maker Kinetic Games has apologised to players for issues with its long-awaited ‘Player Character Update’, admitting it “missed the mark” and “didn’t deliver on our promises to you”.

In numerous patches and hotfixes released to address the many issues spawned by the latest update that released earlier this week, the studio explained how it had been working through player feedback to provide “a much better experience for everyone playing Phasmophobia”.

“We want to start today by apologising for our Player Character Update that launched last week. It’s clear we missed the mark on this, and didn’t deliver on our promises to you,” the team said.

“Your feedback and your reviews were justified. Our team has grown significantly over the last year, and with that comes a higher standard that, in this case, we failed to meet.”

Now, in a bid to address that feedback, Kinetic has already deployed one substantive patch and two hotfixes to bring the game “in-line with our vision for this update”.

“We’ve read feedback from across the entire community. The frustration and disappointment has been clear,” the team admitted.

If you are one of the of people who love both the nightmare-inducing ghosts of Phasmophobia and the surreal world of troubled author Alan Wake, don’t forget that a three-week collaboration between the two horror series is now live.

It takes place in Phasmophobia – it’s called Phasmophobia by Alan Wake – and it will see locations from Alan’s second outing (Alan Wake 2) recreated in Phasmophobia alongside new character skins, community challenges “and more”.
