Canadians being Canadians, many will say, “let’s standardize those party rules.” But different parties have different internal democratic cultures for a reason; that’s a feature, not a bug. If they want to let children or non-citizens or golden labs vote, or bar them from voting, to my mind, that’s their business. Canadian politics needs more philosophical diversity, not less.
