Paris Fashion Week Men’s Denim Trends: Shorts and Skinny Jeans

The collections presented at Paris Men’s Fashion Week positioned denim as an essential fabric for the Spring/Summer 2027 season.

Once again, denim was prominent in Jonathan Anderson’s collection for Dior. The democratic fabric added a casual elegance to the otherwise regal collection of embroidered shirts, tuxedo shirts and nods to historical costume. Slim jeans were coated, texturized and colorful, with colors ranging from washed red to buttercup yellow to bubblegum pink. Jean shorts had a yellowish antique tint and were chopped and frayed. Denim shirts were slim and distressed with markings and patchwork.

Louis Vuitton also showed vintage wash jean shorts, offering a variety of lengths from mid-thigh cutoffs to below the knee, in a surf-inspired collection. The water element was evident in brand’s soft blue washes and liquid-like finishes and denim pieces embellished with cowrie shells. A multi-pocket denim safari jacket had a sun-bleached look, while a pair of monogramed jeans looked rich in brown.

Cutoff shorts—some with exposed boxer shorts—were part of Willy Chavarria’s collection. Egonlab and Acne Studios also showed some leg with jean shorts.

While Prada’s Milan collection offered a contemporary interpretation of skinny jeans the week prior, Acne stayed closer to the style’s 2000s energy with color (black, red and green) and lower rises. The jeans were accompanied by some rockabilly-inspired denim including cuffed jeans and dark rinse jackets with stud details.

Colorful embroidery decorated Bluemarble’s washed blue jeans, while printed portraits were seen on Undercover’s jeans and key chains dangled from Vetements’ jeans with unraveled hems. A beaded belt twisted around Celine’s inky blue skinny jeans. The French label also brought back the 2010’s black jean with double knee slits.

Feng Chen Wang manipulated denim with twisted side seams and folded excess fabric. Hed Mayner emphasized the front yoke of jeans with pleats and high-low washes added depth to Issey Miyake’s deconstructed denim suits.

There was plenty of classic jeans as well. Ssstein offered a tight assortment of barrel and straight fits in wearable washes. Sacai toned down its unconventional fits and focused on relaxed jeans with self-belts. Auralee balanced indigo styles with summer-friendly aqua washes and Kenzo kept denim preppy and elevated with clean dark washes.
