Parallelle Rebrands as Afform, Expanding Beyond Viral Travel Cosmetic Bags

A start-up that found viral success with a cosmetics bag designed for optimized organization is evolving into a broader travel lifestyle business.

The company formerly known as Parallelle, which found a devoted following with its patented Traveller cosmetics bag, is rebranding as Afform as it prepares for its next phase of growth. Alongside the name change, the company is planning international expansion, new product categories spanning travel gear, technology and wearable accessories, and projects 2026 sales will triple from approximately $12.5 million in 2025.

While the rebrand was prompted in part by an existing trademark in France, the move also reflects a company that has outgrown the product that first put it on consumers’ radar. Rather than defining itself by beauty organization alone, the brand is positioning itself around functional design across a wider spectrum of travel and everyday essentials.

That evolution, explained founder Annie Fan, has been reinforced by customers who embraced the brand because it solved a surprisingly quotidian challenge. “Our original bags, Travellers, solved a problem nobody had solved before: how to arrive and stay organized without unpacking,” she said.

The company first gained momentum through social media, with fans including Alix Earle and Kelly Wearstler helping introduce the products to wider audiences before it expanded into wholesale partners such as Nordstrom and Bloomingdale’s.

“We owe a huge amount to our early customers — they’ve been our biggest advocates, sharing with their own communities long before we had a wholesale or international presence,” she said. “As more people discovered that, they told their friends, and growth compounded from there. It tells us that today’s consumers want thoughtfully designed products that genuinely simplify daily life,” she said.

While a trademark conflict in France was the catalyst of the rebrand, Fan said the timing has a broader meaning. “Our name Parallelle came from the parallel bars that defined our first Travellers cosmetic bags — which have since become a recognizable icon. But we’re outgrowing that realm. Afform lets us build into categories well beyond bars and toiletry bags. The new name reflects where the brand is heading.”

Beginning in September, the company plans to introduce a series of travel products, technology accessories and its first wearable styles, an assortment that is of a piece with its broader ambition of becoming a more comprehensive travel brand rather than a single-product success story.

“Our goal remains the same: help people move through their day, and their travels, more smoothly and calmly,” she said of the assortment, which ranges from $85 to $160. “That’s really what Afform stands for — form that’s always functional. If we keep delivering on that, the brand builds staying power on its own.”
