ATLANTA — The Mets have sunk further since their last meeting with the Braves.
After the Mets grabbed a series win over the NL East’s first-place team in mid-June, the Mets enter their four-game series with the Braves, beginning at 7:15 p.m. Friday at Truist Park, having lost five straight series.

The Mets are 36-51 and in last place in the division as they return to a locale where they have not had much success. Last season, the Mets were 2-4 against the Braves at Truist Park.
Friday night’s game kicks off a stretch of 10 straight games before the All-Star break for the Mets.
Christian Scott will be on the mound for the Mets for the second time since returning from the injured list with a hip impingement. The 27-year-old right-hander is 2-0 with a 3.20 ERA in 10 starts this season.
Grant Holmes will be taking the ball for the Braves, entering with a 4-4 record and 3.96 ERA in 15 appearances this season. The right-hander has not thrown more than 70 pitches since June 3.
