Nintendo’s got two new Joy-Con 2 colours for Switch 2, and they’re due next month

Nintendo has announced two pastelly new Joy-Con 2 controller colours for Switch 2, and said they’ll release next month.

The colours – officially Light Purple and Light Green (though I’d have called them Lavender and Turquoise) – are due to arrive 12th February, alongside Mario Tennis Fever on Switch 2. As far as I’m aware, these are the first new Joy-Con 2 colour variants offered for Switch 2. I’m sure they won’t be the last.

Speaking of Mario Tennis Fever: Nintendo released a sizable overview trailer for the game today, detailing modes and characters as well as things like GameShare and amiibo support.

Nintendo has a fairly busy year ahead for Switch 2. Games arriving soon include an updated Switch 2 version of Animal Crossing: New Horizons next week (15th January), Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade on 22nd January, and Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined on 3rd February.

Later in the year there’s Pokémon Pokopia (5th March), Tomodachi LIfe: Living the Dream (spring), Yoshi and the Mysterious Book (spring), Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave (2026), and FromSoftware’s Switch 2 exclusive The Duskbloods (2026). That’s in addition to various third-party games and ports of big existing games.
