NFL Week 1 injury report: A rundown of every team’s current injury situation

It’s officially Week 1 of the 2026 NFL regular season, which means that it’s time for each team’s initial injury report. Per usual, there are a myriad of players to keep an eye on between now and their team’s first game.

Every NFL team is required to issue three injury reports throughout the week. The week’s final injury report includes game designations for players who are dealing with injuries. Teams are then required to submit a release of their inactive players 90 minutes prior to kickoff.

Wednesday reports are especially important because they allow fans to see their team’s initial injury status at the start of their work week. By following injury reports daily, fans can see how players are progressing or regressing throughout the week.

Below is a rundown of every team’s Wednesday injury report. Be sure to check back periodically as we’ll be continuously providing updates throughout the day.

Wednesday, September 9

Patriots at Seahawks (8:20 p.m. ET)

Patriots INACTIVES: CB Karon Prunty, RB Treveyon Henderson, OLB Erick Hunter, T Walter Rouse, C Ben Brown, WR Efton Chism, QB Behren Morton

Seahawks INACTIVES: WR Ty Okada, S Nick Emmanwori, WR Tory Horton, G Beau Stephens, DE Mike Morris, TE Nick Kallerup, QB Jalen Milroe

Brown’s status for Wednesday night was expected, as he did not travel with the team to Seattle. His absence would create an issue for the Patriots if starting center Jared Wilson sustains an injury at any point. New England doesn’t have any other centers on their active roster, so the assumption would be that one of its backup guards (Greg Van Roten or Walter Rouse) would fill in if Wilson were to get injured.

Henderson was ruled out after not taking part in Tuesday’s practice. His absence will likely lead to a heavier workload for Rhamondre Stevenson, who is no stranger to being New England’s bell cow. Stevenson has started the bulk of the Patriots’ games since 2023.

For Seattle, Emmanwori was ruled out after being labeled as questionable.

Thursday, September 10

49ers at Rams (8:35 p.m. ET)

49ers: TBA
Rams: TBA

Sunday, September 13

Falcons at Steelers (1 p.m. ET)

Falcons: QB Michael Penix Jr. (knee) FULL; CB Billy Bowman Jr. (Achilles), WR Zachariah Branch (hamstring), DL Brandon Dorlus (groin), OL Kyle Hamilton (knee), DE Za’Darius Smith (shoulder) LIMITED
Steelers: CB Joey Porter Jr. (back) LIMITED

Despite being a full practice participant, Penix will not start in Atlanta’s season opener. Instead, leading the Falcons offense will be veteran Tua Tagovailoa, whose last start for Miami was a loss against the Steelers in Pittsburgh.

For the Steelers, Porter recently returned to practice after missing the duration of training camp. Regarding his possible status for Sunday, Steelers coach Mike McCarthy said he expects “everyone to play.”

If Porter can’t play, veteran cornerback Asante Samuel Jr. is slated to start in his place. Samuel, who signed with the Steelers last season, is actually listed as a starter on Pittsburgh’s depth chart alongside Porter.

Ravens at Colts (1 p.m. ET)

Ravens: LB Teddye Buchanan (knee), WR Zay Flowers (hamstring), DT Nnamdi Madubuike (neck) LIMITED
Colts: S AJ Haulcy (ankle), TE Drew Ogletree (neck), WR Alec Pierce (heel), C Sedrick Van Pran-Granger (illness) LIMITED

Flowers told reporters following practice that he hopes to be a full participant during Baltimore’s last two practices ahead of Sunday’s game. Madubuike and Buchanan are working their way back from injuries that prematurely ended their 2025 seasons.

In Indianapolis, Haulcy returned to practice after missing the last few weeks. Pierce is continuing to work his way back from offseason surgery that kept him out of training camp. It appears that he is on track to face Baltimore.

Bills at Texans (1 p.m. ET)

Bills: DB Jordan Hancock (quad), RB Ty Johnson (hamstring) DNP; DL T.J. Sanders (knee) LIMITED
Texans: LB Wade Woodaz (thumb), OT Trent Brown (wrist) FULL; DT Kayden McDonald (ankle) LIMITED

Both Buffalo and Houston are relatively healthy heading into Week 1. Johnson, however, would be a significant loss for Buffalo if he is unable to play, especially in terms of what he provides in pass protection. Veteran Ray Davis would be in line to get more reps if Johnson can’t go.

Bears at Panthers (1 p.m. ET)

Bears: QB Tyson Bagent (back) DNP; WR Rome Odunze (calf), OL Ozzy Trapilo (knee) LIMITED
Panthers: OLB Patrick Jones II (back) DNP; RB Jonathon Brooks (groin), DT Bobby Brown III (back) LIMITED

It appears Odunze is trending toward playing in Sunday’s game. He used Monday and Tuesday as rehab days before getting through Wednesday without a setback. Trapilo, meanwhile, is not expected to suit up against the Panthers.

In Carolina, Jones missed another practice after he sat out Monday’s bonus practice. Brooks returned to practice in a limited capacity after working with the team’s athletic training staff last week.

Browns at Jaguars (1 p.m. ET)

Browns: LB Carson Schwesinger (shoulder) FULL; C Parker Brailsford (thumb), DT Maliek Collins (quad), G Teven Jenkins (back) LIMITED
Jaguars: RB Lequint Allen (hip) DNP; WR Jakobi Meyers (thumb), OL Cole Van Lanen (knee) LIMITED

Browns coach Todd Monken said that Collins is “good to go” for the season opener despite his limited status on Wednesday. If Jenkins (who sustained his injury during Wednesday’s practice) can’t go, Austin Barber, a third-round pick who had an impressive summer, would be in line to make his first career start.

Allen was the only player who did not practice on Wednesday for either team. He missed the latter portions of the Jaguars’ training camp after he sustained a soft tissue injury.

Saints at Lions (1 p.m. ET)

Saints: TE Oscar Delp (hamstring), RB Audric Estime (thigh), EDGE Cameron Jordan (hamstring) DNP; RB Alvin Kamara (knee) LIMITED
Lions: DB Christian Izien (groin), EDGE Derrick Moore (hamstring), DL Mekhi Wingo (groin) LIMITED; CB Keith Abney II (hand), S Thomas Harper (ankle), LB Trevor Nowaske (knee), CB Ennis Rakestraw (ankle), LB Jimmy Rolder (hamstring) FULL

The Saints’ longest-tenured players (Jordan and Kamara) appeared on Wednesday’s injury report. Saints coach Kellen Moore said that Jordan will not play after sustaining his injury last month. Moore said that Kamara’s status for Sunday is up in the air.

The Lions had a host of players on their injury report, but only three practiced in a limited capacity. A positive was tight end Sam LaPorta not being on the injury report after he sustained a hip injury during training camp.

Jets at Titans (1 p.m. ET)

Jets: EDGE Joseph Ossai (foot), WR Tim Patrick (groin) DNP; CB D’Angelo Ponds (calf) LIMITED; RB Isaiah Davis (knee), RB Breece Hall (groin), TE Kenyon Sadiq (groin) FULL
Titans: DE Keldric Faulk (shoulder) FULL; LB Cedric Gray (concussion) DNP

The big news in the Big Apple is that Hall is a full practice participant. The Jets’ starting running back has been progressing since he sustained the injury during the latter portion of training camp.

For the Titans, Gray suffered a concussion and other minor injuries over Labor Day weekend while being away from the team’s facility. While he didn’t practice on Wednesday, coach Robert Saleh reiterated that Gray has a chance to clear concussion protocol by the end of the week. He did not reveal any specifics regarding how Gray sustained the injuries.

“He’s obviously apologetic,” Saleh said of Gray. ” Obviously frustrated with himself. … He’s good, he’s healthy, he’s got a chance. It could have been a lot worse.”

Buccaneers at Bengals (1 p.m. ET)

Buccaneers: RB Sean Tucker (hamstring) DNP; OLB Rueben Bain Jr. (shoulder), WR Jalen McMillan (knee), LB Christian Rozeboom (foot), T Justin Skule (oblique) LIMITED; WR Emeka Egbuka (toe), G Billy Schrauth (knee) FULL
Bengals: WR Ja’Marr Chase (knee), WR Tee Higgins (foot), DE Shemar Stewart (knee) FULL

One of the league’s most injury-plagued teams in 2025, the Buccaneers are dealing with multiple injuries once again. Regarding Tucker, Buccaneers coach Todd Bowles said he is currently a game-time decision.

Chase’s appearance on the Bengals’ injury report isn’t surprising after he suffered an injury scare during practice late last month. Like Chase, Higgins was also a full practice participant despite having an injury of his own.

Cardinals at Chargers (4:25 p.m. ET)

Cardinals: TBA
Chargers: DE Deane Leonard (abdomen), LB Khalil Mack (rest) DNP; S RJ Mickens (ankle), RB Keaton Mitchell (hamstring), WR Brenen Thompson (hip), LB Tuli Tuipulotu (hip) LIMITED

Chargers coach Jim Harbaugh said that offensive tackle Rashawn Slater will play on Sunday. Slater, who didn’t appear on Wednesday’s injury report, had been dealing with a knee injury.

Packers at Vikings (4:25 p.m. ET)

Packers: TBA
Vikings: TBA

Dolphins at Raiders (4:25 p.m. ET)

Dolphins: LB Ronnie Harrison Jr. (hamstring), TE Will Kacmarek (calf) LIMITED; TE Seydou Traore (thumb/Achilles) FULL
Raiders: TE Brock Bowers (knee) DNP; RB Ashton Jeanty (ankle) FULL

Kacmarek’s return to practice is big for a Dolphins team that has been thin at the tight end position. Harrison’s return would aid Miami on both defense and special teams.

While Bowers might miss multiple games, Jeanty’s full participation is good news for the Raiders. The Raiders’ starting running back is in line to face Miami after missing the end of Las Vegas’ training camp due to sustaining his injury.

Commanders at Eagles (4:25 p.m. ET)

Commanders: TBA
Eagles: LB Jonanthan Greenard (pec), TE Eli Stowers (hamstring) LIMITED

The Inquirer’s Jeff McLane reported that the Eagles want to see how Greenard fares in practice this week before determining his availability for Sunday. Greenard missed all of training camp due to injury.

Cowboys at Giants (8:20 p.m. ET)

Cowboys: OL Ajani Cornelius (knee) LIMITED; DT Jonathan Bullard (groin) FULL
Giants: DL Shelby Harris (Achilles), OL Bryan Hudson (knee), TE Theo Johnson (shoulder), WR Malik Nabers (knee), T Andrew Thomas (knee) FULL

The big news here was Nabers being a full practice participant. Giants coach John Harbaugh said he thinks Nabers is “ready to go” regarding Sunday night’s game. In Week 2 last season, Nabers torched Dallas to the tune of nine receptions for 167 yards and two scores. He hasn’t played since he tore his ACL in Week 4 of last season.

Monday, September 14

Broncos at Chiefs (8:15 p.m. ET)

Broncos: TBA
Chiefs: TBA
