New Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 Trailer and Images Shown at Anime NYC

A new trailer and images from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 have been revealed by Netflix, giving us a closer look at the high-octane action and heartbreaking tragedy we can expect from this latest foray into Night City.

An English-language trailer for the critically-acclaimed anime’s second season has hit the internet to kick off Anime NYC. We finally get to hear Clancy Brown (Detroit: Become Human, Avatar the Last Airbender) as Weak Kingsley, a veteran Edgerunner who we see fall into the throes of cyberpsychosis and blast some chooms with his pistol. You know, typical Cyberpunk stuff.

We also get a glimpse of him taking an assignment from a concerned mother in a diner, who mentions her daughter, as well as a shot of him sitting by Talia Yang as she lies in a hospital bed. “Losing yourself… that’s worse than death,” Kingsley says in a voiceover.

D, a Snake Nation nomad, also gets some time to shine; we see him slotting a datashard into his neck as a voiceover says: “Those burns… I didn’t know anyone else survived. You’ve been out for blood? All this time?”

A burning campsite flashes across the screen, along with clips of the usual Night City ultraviolence. We see a shot of Talia in the rain, then D and Roman Carax standing by a burning corpse at night in the desert. Something crazy is happening with D’s hair here as Roman says in a voiceover: “You’re a weapon? A weapon made out of people?”

“In Night City, the lines between redemption and revenge will blur. Night City will burn again,” text intermittently appearing throughout the trailer reads.

Along with this trailer, we got a few new images featuring Roman Carax, D, and Kingsley, one of which shows him presenting with the physical symptoms of cyberpsychosis and another showing him facing off with what appears to be a MaxTac hovercraft, pistol in hand.

While Studio Trigger is still holding its cards close to the chest, we got a better look at what we’re in for when October 20 rolls around, and it doesn’t look like it’ll be any less heartbreaking than the first season was.

In fact, the ending of Edgerunner’s first season was tame in comparison to what was originally planned, with writer Bartosz Sztybor admitting that “there were even worse endings” for David and company.

For now, we’ll have to wait for more details coming out of Netflix’s upcoming panel at Anime NYC. In the meantime, you can check out our breakdown of the characters appearing in the new season, as well as the individual locations spotted in Season 2 trailers that line up with specific spots in the game.

It is true that we do not know what is in the deal withthe Trump administration or even if there is a deal. But we cannot wait until it is too late to express our concerns. While I understand why the government does not want to negotiate in public, we have no idea what if any bottom lines our negotiators have or what they believe success looks like. Instead what we know is that a trail of concessions brought us to this point and a deal will mean more concessions and all evidence suggests that tariffs are here to stay. If the government uses the standard that we want tariffs lower than other countries it has set a very low bar given that our economic relationship with the US and the implications of the tariffs are not like other countries.
