Nashville airport may be renamed to honor Dolly Parton


Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee (R) announced plans Friday to rename Nashville International Airport to honor Dolly Parton, the country music legend and American icon who died this week at age 80.

Though Parton was famously from the mountains of rural East Tennessee, Lee said it was appropriate for the Nashville airport, in the Middle Tennessee region and in the heart of the country music capital, to bear Parton’s name.
