Musab Balbale has exited CVS Health.
In a LinkedIn post, Balbale wrote: “After four energizing years, it is bittersweet to share that I will be leaving CVS. I’m incredibly proud of what our team has accomplished together. From sharpening our merchandising fundamentals to deploying new AI tools that improve how we work, we drove meaningful customer growth in an intensely competitive retail landscape. What I cherish most are the people — talented teammates who challenged and laughed with one another, moved with urgency and stayed relentlessly focused on serving customers.”
Zach Dennett has been appointed interim leader of the merchandising team. He joined CVS Health in 2022 and most recently served as the vice president of merchandising, consumer health care.
Balbale joined CVS in 2022. Prior to that, he worked at Walmart as vice president of omnichannel beauty for the retail giant. He arrived at Walmart in 2016 during the acquisition of Jet.com.
A spokesperson for CVS said: “During his more than four years as CVS Health’s chief merchandising officer, Musab led the development and execution of CVS Pharmacy’s front store strategy. We appreciate his leadership and wish him well in his next role. Zach Dennett has been appointed interim leader of the merchandising team.…He brings a strong track record of leadership and innovation and is well-positioned to continue CVS Pharmacy’s efforts to meet customers’ unique needs, where they are and when they need us.
