Mother and son identified as skeletal remains found in Connecticut home bought at auction

A mother and her son have been identified as two of the three skeletal remains found in a Connecticut home that was bought at auction.

The remains found at the Burlington home were identified as Brian Cash, 22, and his mother Sally Ann Cash, 54, Connecticut State Police said Monday.

Their causes of death are pending, and investigators are still working to identify the third person.

The remains were reported on June 14 by the new homebuyer who had purchased the residence at an “as is” foreclosure auction, and discovered the remains inside.

The Connecticut Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has not determined a cause of death, but officials have said there’s no indication of anything suspicious or a criminal aspect.

The case remains under investigation.

The house was purchased at auction for $525,000 on June 6, according to court documents.

It had been purchased in 2019 by a couple who secured a $385,000 loan, according to a complaint filed Aug. 1 by an attorney representing the lender.
