Monster Hunter Wilds confirmed for Nintendo Switch 2

Remember those rumours of a Nintendo Switch 2 port of Monster Hunter Wilds that wouldn’t quite go away? Dataminers believed they’ve discovered evidence that Monster Hunter Wilds could be coming to Nintendo Switch 2 at the start of the year – and then again in February – and now it seems they were right: Monster Hunter Wilds is indeed coming to Nintendo Switch 2.

While we don’t have any specifics – Capcom said it’ll have “more info to share, including the release date, in the future” – we did get a little more detail about Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance, the “massive expansion/DLC” coming next year.

Coming to PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, the expansion will introduce Skybound Eyrie, a brand-new region with sky islands and floating ruins, the return of classic elder dragons like Kushala Daora, and a massive returning monster, Lao-Shan Lung, was teased at the end of the reveal trailer. We’re also told to expect Master Rank quests, the new Boost Bracer mechanic, and more when it releases sometime in 2027.

Capcom confirmed it was ending the game’s free content updates at the end of 2025. After providing promised performance improvements earlier this year, a major patch in February added a bunch of 10-star Arch-tempered monsters to slay in permanent event quests, new weapon and pendant designs from a design contest held a while back, and a Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection collaboration.
