Minister Sidhu speaks with India’s Minister of Commerce and Industry


October 11, 2025 – Ottawa, Canada – Global Affairs Canada 

Today, the Honourable Maninder Sidhu, Minister of International Trade, spoke with Piyush Goyal, India’s Minister of Commerce and Industry.

Minister Sidhu highlighted the renewal of the Canada-India bilateral relationship and Canada’s work to deepen economic cooperation and advance shared priorities, including food security, energy transformation and supply chain resiliency.    

Minister Sidhu reiterated that Canada will continue to work closely with India to identify opportunities for businesses and workers in key sectors such as critical minerals, agriculture and processed foods, infrastructure, clean technologies and information and communication technologies.
