In the face of a shifting global economic landscape, Canada is moving to diversify and strengthen its international trade relationships to ensure that Canadian workers and businesses can thrive. Trade missions are a key part of these efforts, helping Canadian companies expand into new markets and strengthen our economy through sustainable growth.

In that context, the Honourable Dominic LeBlanc, President of the King’s Privy Council for Canada and Minister responsible for Canada-U.S. Trade, Intergovernmental Affairs, Internal Trade and One Canadian Economy, will lead a Team Canada Trade Mission to Mexico from February 15 to 20, 2026. With over 240 organizations and more than 370 delegates, this Team Canada Trade Mission reflects strong interest from Canadian companies to expand in Mexico’s market and underscores the depth of Canada’s longstanding economic relationship and friendship with Mexico.

This mission will bring together a diverse delegation of Canadian businesses, industry associations, and partners from across the country to strengthen commercial ties with Mexico and explore new opportunities in a dynamic and diverse market. Participants will engage directly with Mexican businesses and government leaders, gain first-hand market intelligence, and build strategic partnerships to support long-term growth.

The mission will focus on areas including advanced manufacturing; agriculture, processed foods, and agricultural technology; clean technologies and clean energy; creative industries; and information and communications technologies.

This Team Canada Trade Mission builds on Canada’s recent engagement with Mexico, including Minister LeBlanc and Prime Minister Carney’s visits to Mexico and the launch of a new Canada-Mexico Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, as well as shared priorities under the Canada-Mexico Action Plan 2025–2028 (CMAP). It reflects Canada’s commitment to trade diversification and to strengthening economic cooperation within North America.
