Michigan Football S Jordan Young withdraws name from transfer portal

After entering the transfer portal last week, Michigan freshman safety Jordan Young has officially withdrawn his name and will return to Ann Arbor for 2026.

Young entered the portal last Tuesday evening after a season in which he played nine games and compiled 15 total tackles and three pass breakups. All three of those pass breakups came in Michigan’s final four games of the season, with one of them being the biggest play of his young career so far late in the game against Northwestern at Wrigley Field.

This is fantastic news, not only because Young has a lot of untapped potential and will benefit greatly from Kyle Whittingham’s defensive staff led by coordinator Jay Hill, but because the defensive back room was starting to look a little thin. After Young’s entry, Michigan also others players in the secondary to the portal in TJ Metcalf, Tevis Metcalf, Brandyn Hillman and Jayden Sanders. Young’s return certainly helps with depth, at the least, and he even could earn himself a starting role should things go right for him this offseason.
