Mark My Words: Polène’s Boky Bag Is Winter’s Chicest It Bag

When I want to know what chic women are wearing, I often look to our French friends. Last week, I planned a quick trip to Paris, and whilst I was there, I carved out a little time to sit in a bistro and people-watch to see how the native elegant dressers are styling their winter wardrobes. Within a few minutes, it was clear one bag has become the defining style to carry this winter, and true to form, it’s a polished style from French handbag expert Polène.

As soon as Polène launched, its ethos was clear: beautifully made bags with a distinctly high-end look. Since its inception, we’ve seen the brand become the in-the-know name to carry, from the spacious Cyme bag that is frequently spotted on my daily commute to the smartly designed Numéro Dix, which can convert from a shoulder bag into a crossbody in a matter of seconds. Now, the Boky has arrived, with a sculptural design that demonstrates craftspersonship and exudes timeless elegance with each detail. The design is inspired by bookbinding, with meticulously folded leather creating two zipped compartments with a central pouch offering plenty of space whilst still maintaining the clean lines of the design.

As ever, Polène doesn’t just consider the look of a bag, but embraces practicality alongside it, which can be seen in the adjustable strap and various compartments. The newly launched style is available in a series of sleek shades, from deep burgundy to a soft green, which caught (and held) my attention.
