Finding a shoe brand you genuinely trust is surprisingly rare. I’m picky—to a fault. I have wide feet, walk everywhere in New York City, and refuse to sacrifice comfort just because something looks chic. So when I find a brand that consistently gets it right, I stick with it. That’s exactly what happened with Margaux.
What started with one pair of Demi ballet flats I picked up in 2024 has snowballed into a full-blown obsession; I now own six pairs of Margaux flats, making me, admittedly, a bit of a Demi-holic. Over the years, they’ve become the pairs I instinctively reach for, whether I’m heading to the office, walking my dog, traveling, or dressing up for an event.
Founded in 2015 by friends Alexa Buckley and Sarah Pierson, Margaux was born from a deceptively simple idea: women shouldn’t have to choose between beautiful shoes and comfortable ones. Designed in New York and handcrafted by artisans at a family-owned factory in Spain, every pair is made with premium Italian leathers and thoughtfully engineered for real life, from plush foam footbeds to an impressively inclusive size range with three widths. It’s that combination of elevated craftsmanship and genuinely wearable design that has earned the brand a loyal following among fashion editors and New Yorkers alike—and, clearly, me.
After spending years wearing its shoes through countless miles (and putting them through the city’s less-than-glamorous sidewalks), I understand why. Style: The Deia

My review: I’m a big sandal girl. Truly, every time the temperaturs reach more than 70 degrees, I whip out a pair of flip-flops and take on the day. In recent years, instead of opting for my classic rubber black styles, I’ve taken a liking to more elevated, refined styles that I can wear just as easily to the office as I can to walk my dog in the mornings. The result was a long and arduous search to find the perfect pair of chic summer sandals, but lo and behold, I found one.
The Deia is easily my favorite summer sandal this year, evidenced by the fact I’ve packed them on nearly every warm-weather trip I’ve been on. I have a larger foot, and while I was a bit nervous that the wide strap would be a bit uncomfortable, the woven, supple leather has molded to my feet over the last few months I’ve been wearing them.

Style: The Demi

My review: The Demi ballet flats are what kicked off my Margaux shoe obsession years ago. To date, I’ve owned four different pairs, each adding a special something to my wardrobe. I rely on them like an emotional crutch, slipping them on and off to wear with white tees and my favorite jeans, capris, linen maxi skirts, and even cheetah-print slip dresses.
What I love most about the Demi is that it’s not re-inventing the wheel: it’s just a simple, perfect, sublime ballet flat. The size range is what drew me most to the brand since I have wide feet and, thankfully, the brand hasn’t let go of their promise to make comfortable flats for everyone. Coming in three varying widths and in a range from a U.S. 3.5 to a 14, I’d put my money behind the following statement: the Margaux Demi ballet flat is by far the best, universal flat shoe you can own. Mic drop.

My review: I exclusively wear ballet flats. It takes a lot for me to slip on a pair of heels, and while Margaux makes some incredible ones, I prioritize both style and comfort, leading me to explore the brand’s flat shoes a bit more. After attending the brand’s Spring Summer 2026 preview where they unveiled tons of new styles, my eyes immediately landed on the Pascale. Just like the Demi flat I’m loyal to, this style has a rounded toe box, but unlike the Demi, a scrunched back and low-profile silhouette make it a bit more editorial for those who are a bit nervous of wearing a traditional Parisian-style ballet flat with a bow on the front. The result is a cool-girl take on the flat shoe style, one that feels more akin to The Row than Carrel.
I’ve only owned leather shoes from Margaux, so trying out the brand’s suede options were exciting for me. The espresso colorway is by far my favorite and the most wearable (although, I will admit, walking with them during a New York City summer downpour wasn’t my brightest idea.) Although they’re not as weatherproof as some of the brand’s other options, the Pascale in suede is ultimately the most sartorially-driven pick out of my list.

Style: The Parra

My review: If you’re been a lover of the pointed opera pumps trend that’s set fashion circles ablaze the last few seasons, this one’s for you. I’ve always been wary of a pointed toe style, especially with my wider and longer feet, but if any brand can convince me to take the style for a spin, it’s Margaux. After wearing these out to the office, to date nights, and even to several high-profile red carpets and interviews I’ve had, I have to admit, the Parra might be my new favorite ‘fancy pants’ shoe. I’ve gotten stopped twice during New York Bridal Fashion Week while wearing them, each time by an editor who’s fawning over the style.
Just like all of my other Margaux shoes, I have the Parra in a wide fit. Especially with a narrow, pointed-toe tip, it’s best to size up half a size and make sure you’re taking your true foot width into account. I took my true size and they slightly pinch me in the back, so keep the silhouette in mind when you’re ordering. If you use them like an Uber-only shoe like me, a slightly tighter fit isn’t the worst in the world, but given my daily 10,000 step count, sizing up would be ideal if you’re envisioning this pair to be part of your daily rotation.
