If you were to ask me which OLED TV to get, whether it be for watching movies in gorgeous 4K or playing PlayStation 5 games at 120fps, my answer would be the same: get either an LG C-series or Samsung S90-series TV. Both offer near best-in-class image quality and features at a significant but not exorbitant price. The 2025 models – the 65″ LG Evo C5 and the 65″ Samsung S90F – also happen to be on sale right now at an identical $1,299.99 with free delivery. This is the lowest price I’ve seen on Amazon for the month of April and, if you’re a basketball fan, the perfect opportunity to get one delivered to you since the NBA playoffs officially kick off this weekend.

Both the LG Evo C5 and Samsung S90F are true OLED TVs capable of producing near-infinite black levels, near-infinite contrast ratio, and near-instantaneous response times. Image quality is superior to nearly every other non-OLED TV out there and there’s no better way to stream 4K HDR content (or upscaled 1080p, for that matter) in all of its intended glory.
Since both TVs are “premium” models, they each also offer added tech that further improves image quality. The LG C5 is equipped with LG’s proprietary Evo panel, which is significantly brighter and offers a wider color gamut than traditional W-OLED TVs. In much the same way, the Samsung S90F boasts Samsung’s quantum dot (QD-OLED) panel, which also boosts brightness and color saturation. The technology is different, but the goal is the same. Samsung’s QD technology is technically superior, although most people will not notice the difference so it really just comes down to brand loyalty.
Both TVs have consistently been our favorite TVs for console gaming for many years thanks to their outstanding image quality, low input lag, and high refresh rate. Both TVs feature a native 120Hz panel that can be overdriven to as high as 144Hz as well as HDMI 2.1 inputs for running PlayStation 5 games in 4K at up to 120fps. Note that although these TVs work just as well with the Switch 2, Nintendo’s latest console can only output a maximum of 60fps, not 120fps, in 4k.
