On Friday night, Laura Dern made an appearance at the 2026 Albie Awards wearing a black strapless gown courtesy of the Stella McCartney fall 2026 ready-to-wear collection. Hosted by the Clooney Foundation for Justice, this year’s Albie Awards were held at the National History Museum, where an array stars showed up to offer their support to individuals who have dedicated their lives to the pursuit of justice.

Dern’s dress features Stella McCartney’s Embellished Heart Bustier Top. The bodice includes a sweetheart neckline decorated with multicolored crystals in earthy-yet-vibrant shades. Clear gems combine with hues of golden yellow, terracotta pink and stony blues and greens to shimmer against the black fabric.
This eye-catching top paired well with the bottom half of Dern’s ensemble, the outfit’s form-fitted skirt reminiscent of a classic little black dress. The look also aims to be eco-friendly. According to the Stella McCartney website, the bodice is made from “forest-friendly” materials that are ethically sourced from non-endangered regions.

The daughter of Paul and Linda McCarney, Stella McCartney is well-known for her animal rights and environmental advocacy, a passion she incorporates into her work as a designer. “I try to remind people in the world of fashion that we don’t have to kill animals and we can work with them,” she said, per WWD review of her fall 2026 collection. This most recent collection from McCartney features a massive array of differing styles ranging from casual to chic and formal, with Stern’s choice of the elegant bodice an excellent one for the Albie Awards.
While Friday night’s event was certainly star-studded, attended by A-listers including Melinda Gates and Emily Ratajkowski, the Albie Awards actually aim to honor the lesser known. Established in 2022, the Albies showcase the achievements of individuals who have dedicated their life to pursuing justice on a global scale, often taking on great personal risk in the process. The name stems from South African anti-apartheid activist Justice Albie Sachs. Sachs endured exile, police intimidation and an assassination attempt due to his work.
